1/10 Scale Electric Buggy:
Kyosho Turbo Scorpion 2017 - 30616
|
Released by Kyosho in March 2017, the 2WD Vintage Series Turbo Scorpion buggy kit - # 30616, is a reproduction of the original 1985 Turbo Scorpion (# 3091).
The new Turbo Scorpion is based on an alloy ladder-frame, with plastic tub chassis, coil spring over oil filled dampers, dogbone drive-shafts and ball bearings.
This attempt to bring the Turbo Scorpion up to modern day standards, is in my opinion, not what Kyosho enthusiasts really want from what should be essentially a re-release of the original, with perhaps a few simple updates. Final thoughts ... OK for collectors wanting to fill a space before they find an original, but not for the serious racer.
Check out our Kyosho Archive for other Vintage Buggy models.
To get the best from the Kyosho Turbo Scorpion, it needs to be fine tuned, to provide precise steering response and improve grip when cornering, so you don't slide off the track. Small changes can make huge advancements and our easy to understand guide will help you to the optimum Set-up for your individual driving style.

Hints, Tips and Information
Sway Bars
On most forms of RC model cars, Sway Bars, also referred to as Stabilizers, Torsion Bars, or more commonly in some parts as Anti Roll Bars, are often nothing more than a short length of spring steel, clamped to the chassis or sometimes the gearbox of the car, extending out to the lower wishbones direct or connected to the wishbones using short adjustable or fixed length links and ball joints, depending on their position. |
Hints, Tips and Information
Radio Frequencies - be Careful be Safe
After buying your first car, it won't be long before you need more than simply bashing around the back yard, or out on the street. So you will be looking around to find a club that is not too far away where you can do some serious racing. |
