Traxxas TRX-4 Traxx (2019) - 82034-4 - Radio Controlled Model

   Introduced by Traxxas in 2019, the "Scale and Trail" TRX-4 Equipped with Traxx Rock Crawler - # 82034-4 - came factory assembled RTR, with a choice of orange or blue pre-painted Bodyshell, a XL-5 HV ESC, Titan 21T 550 Reverse Rotation Brushed Motor, Metal Gear Servo, TQi 2.4GHz Radio System and LED Light Kit. A Battery and Charger to be purchased separately.

   The 4-Traxx Drive model is shaft driven, on a front motor design steel frame chassis with floor pans, sealed limited slip T-Lock (remote locking) differentials, coil spring over oil filled dampers, hardened steel universal joint drive-shafts, high/low transmission and a full set of ball bearings. A set of four wheels and tires were also included.

   This is an ongoing project, with new and "lost in time" RC Models and Brands being added as they are found and although most of those listed above have been covered in relative detail, some are still being researched and will be completed in the near future.

How to put on Decals

   After spending lots of time and effort to paint your bodyshell, you come to the point where you make it look good by putting on all those flashy decals, but before you rush in with the scissors and start cutting, there are a few things you should do first.

   Good preparation is key to a perfect job, so before you do anything with your decals, you must first of all wash your hands, and then make sure the bodyshell is clean and no oil or grime from your previously grubby fingers remains on the Polycarbonate Lexan surface. Methylated spirits is the thing to use, or failing that, use one of those wipes you use for your computer monitor screen.

   As the body shell dries, you can carefully cut out the decals from the sheet. Do the big ones first and leave the smallest ones for last.

Bumpsteer

   In plain language, Bumpsteer is exactly what it sounds like. If your car goes over a bump, it will affect the toe-in setting and can on some tracks make handling of the car in a straight line difficult.

   To check if your car might have any problems with bumpsteer, have it in race mode, with the motor and battery etc in position. Place the car on a flat surface and push down your car at the front. Looking down from above, keep a close eye on the wheels and watch for any angular movement to the side. If there is then you have bumpsteer.

   For off road cars, because of them having longer dampers in comparison to on road, a small amount of toe out is considered by many as acceptable in the lower position and can sometimes be used as a tuning option because of its aggressive effect on turning ability when entering corners. On road cars, because of the shorter damper movement and the greater need for precise steering and stability in a straight line, generally have less of a problem. However if bumpsteer is detected, drivers generally try to eliminate this as much as possible.
