1/10 Scale Electric Formula One Car:
Kyosho Brabham Yamaha BT60Y - 4204
|
Released by Kyosho in 1991, the Brabham Yamaha BT60Y Formula 1 Racing Car - # 4204 - was based on the car driven by Martin Brundle and rookie Mark Blundell in the 1991 F1 Championship. Brabham had a poor season that year, finishing 10th in the Constructors' Championship with only three points.
The unassembled kit came with an unpainted polycarbonate Bodyshell, a Mega Outlaw 22T Stock Motor, Alloy Heatsink and one-piece plastic Wheels with semi-pneumatic rubber tires. A Radio System, ESC, Battery and Charger to be purchased separately.
Now considered rare, all the early 1990s Kyosho F1 RC models are much sought after by ardent collectors the world over.
Check out our Kyosho Archive for other F1 models.
The 2WD model is based on a molded plastic double deck chassis, with front "crash-back" system incorporating two O-rings (previously used on a number of Schumacher models), A-arm wishbone suspension, with pushrod actuated coil spring over friction dampers, bevel gear type differential, gear reduction drive with dogbone drive-shafts and bushings.

Bearing Seals
If you were to ask anyone with a modicum of experience in RC, they will tell you that the best modification you can make to a basic RC model, is to add a set of ball bearings. |

My First National
When I first started in RC, way back in the late 1980s, I would turn up to the weekly club meeting, with my Tamiya Boomerang, Acoms transmitter, two sets of crystals, a couple of 7.2v batteries, a charger and a tool box with a wheel spanner and a few spares. |
