1/8 Scale Nitro Racing Car:
Kyosho Dash 1
|
Introduced by Kyosho in 1970, the Dash 1 was designed and developed by Naohiko Otsuki, and is widely accepted as the first Japanese made RC car. Three vacuum molded Bodyshell options were originally available: the Porsche 917, Lola T-70 and McLaren Elva M8-D. The model came as an unassembled kit, without an engine, with a Perry Carburettor, Kyosho Fuel Stopper, Exhaust Pipe, and later with four additional Bodyshell options: the Ferrari 512S, Formula-1, Fairlady-Z and Skyline GTR.
After wide success on the Japanese RC racing scene, the Dash 1 was later re-branded and sold in Europe by Robbe as the K-1.
The 2WD model is based on a 2-piece formed alloy plate chassis, with direct drive rear axle, front coil spring over kingpin suspension and adjustable centrifugal clutch.
To get the best from the Kyosho Dash 1, it needs to be fine tuned, to provide precise steering response and improve grip when cornering, so you don't slide off the track. Small changes can make huge advancements and our easy to understand guide will help you to the optimum Set-up for your individual driving style.

Hints, Tips and Information
Maintain your Fuel System
Nitro engines need a regulated constant supply of fuel to run efficiently. If this supply is restricted or contaminated in any way, the engine will show problems in a number of ways. |
Hints, Tips and Information
My First National
When I first started in RC, way back in the late 1980s, I would turn up to the weekly club meeting, with my Tamiya Boomerang, Acoms transmitter, two sets of crystals, a couple of 7.2v batteries, a charger and a tool box with a wheel spanner and a few spares. |
